The lemming list for Autumn Winter 2015

Virtual shopping, it's akin to window shopping minus the cardio -- no shirt, no shoes, no problem!

Let's spend some time together surfing the Internet without the guilt. Without further ado, here's my Autumn Winter edit for 2015 for your viewing pleasure.

The Shirt

APOM's (A Part of Me) Dino Cross Back Top - It's fun, it's playful, and it's got dinosaurs! If the price tag weren't so hefty it would already be mine.

The Shoes

Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper collects the best accessories, so it was no surprise when she sported fellow style blogger and friend Chiara Ferragni's Flirting Flat Sandals. Don't take these shoes too seriously, and accept them for what they are -- a wink-y perk me up for any day of the week.

The Handbag

There's no denying the creative duo behind newish accessories label Mansur Gavriel's star is rising. Seriously hoping to hitch my wagon to their very fashionable Crossbody Bag, but it looks like I'll have to hang out for its September release.

The Lipstick

Shanghai Suzy has eight more shades set to drop some time this April. Miss Victorine and Miss Nina are both begging to make their way into my makeup bag.

The Dress

The Pleated Pyramid Dress featuring gold, navy, cerulean blue, and loads of symmetry hits all the right notes for me. Please stop it, Gorman -- my wallet can't handle it!

The Palette

The grown up version of all the nude eyeshadow palettes out there. YSL has come to the party, and they pulled out the stops with the Couture Variation Palette. Expect to blow your makeup budget on this little gem.

Kookai does Vegas for AW15

Sneaky snap of Siobhan touching up her makeup

Sneaky snap of Siobhan touching up her makeup

Last week I found myself amidst the backstage mayhem prior to the start of Kookai's fashion show. It wasn't really mayhem of course, more like organised chaos - everyone had a station, a role, and a pretty model to paint. I'm still pinching myself about it all, but the highlight of the evening was meeting Napoleon Perdis' Director of Makeup, Siobhan Kelly.

Watch on to see how this fashion show came to life..

And, be sure to check out these links for a bit more information:

  • Music by Geowulf - a local, and very talented Aussie.
  • Napoleon Perdis' DeVine Goddess Lipstick in Electra (currently sold out).
  • Napoleon Perdi's Auto Pilot Lip Service
  • Kookai's latest collection for AW 15 - dying to try on the Placid Funnel Neck Top, and The Architect Top!

Thanks for watching!

Special thanks to Two Birds Talking for providing backstage access, as well as allowing me to hang out for the show.

Dreaming of summer

Beachy keen

Beachy keen

It's cold out, but not enough to permit snow and for that I am thankful; I just wish it'd warm up already. My New England blood has thinned and I can't take this dreary Melbourne winter anymore.

Here's a round up of some of my favourite things I've been eyeing off on the Interwebs.

Ok, we get it Kate Upton, you can stop rubbing it in our faces. Bronze-y glow, check. Sun-kissed cheeks, check. Seashell pink lips, check. Totally envious and I'd switch places with her in a heartbeat. Bobbi Brown's Surf Eye Palette and Beach Rollerball fragrance might just tide me over.

Mmm. NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow you look good enough to eat, particularly Desdemona. I'll take one in every colour. Thankyouverymuch.

For day Balenciaga's Tube Round M Bag will help me get to and from work, no problem. And for those nights when I don't want to fuss about with a large purse, Alexander Wang's Chastity Clutch ups the ante sans bulk.

Pink toes and pink lips. Easy done.

A chic one piece that keeps me both covered and comfortable. It'd look super sweet layered under jean shorts or a skirt and paired with blinding white Keds.

Capping off the life aquatic, the Gap's mix-cable sweater features a gill-like texture. While I love it in white, it manages to look a tad too schlumpy on the model for my liking.

Ok, let's get our bags packed and head to Hawaii now.

K, bye!

Not my scene: Her Fashion Box

IMG_5214.jpg

At first I thought the contents inside were having a bit of an identity crisis, but when I did some reading about the concept/inspiration behind Her Fashion Box I now understand what the creators, Kath and Kerry, are going for.

I, however, am still not sold.

While I can (and sometimes do) appreciate snippets of fast fashion crammed into a petite box, I wish the execution was a bit more focused. Well known brands, namely Maybelline, Redken and Batiste might back this particular flashy September bundle -- however, the wonky clutch, chunky chain bracelet and adjustable ring leaves a lot to be desired.

From afar the accessories appear to be on trend, but on closer inspection things are far from good.

For Australian standards, subscribers are getting a good value for money. But, I'd rather spend the same amount of coin at Lovisa, Colette or Claire's (for the ladies in the States) on accessories to my liking.

The Bagful breakdown:

Total amount for Her Fashion Box:

  • $39.00 AUS per month

Value for money spent (performance and quality):

  • 2 out of 10 bags — Her Fashion Box is not everything to me. Pass.

Would another purchase be on the horizon?:

  • Nope. Thanks for sharing.
