UNICO Hair revamp @ Degraves Street

Blink and you just might miss it -- tucked amidst this cafe-filled lane way resides UNICO Hair. Early last week I attended the salon's re-opening to celebrate its redesign and 20-year residency. While the space is small, yet intimate, the staff led by owner Sofia Basile, has a lot of heart; in a moment filled with sincere thank-yous, Sofia gushed with pride about all the potential she saw in her first shop located on Degraves Street. Two additional locations later and a haircare range sprinkled between life, a supportive husband and three children certainly proves you are what you make of it [life].

Go green with UNICO Formulations -- Sofia's haircare range was borne out of her own experience and frustrations with dermatitis; the harsh chemicals sometimes found in haircare products ravaged her most important asset, her hands. Something such as UNICO Formulations is something I can truly get behind, because I suffer from eczema. For the past week I've been testing out the Leave In Conditioner Spray; the scent and formula are light and help to tame my frizzy waves for days when I feel like going au natural.

A special thank you to Pip Jarvis of Pip Ink for the invitation and to Sofia, thank you for opening your doors and heart to us.
